Deanna Creighton Cook

Class of 1990
I am excited to share my achievement! I currently live in Albuquerque, NM which is a state that really struggles with childhood hunger, poverty and poor educational outcomes. I work with numerous grants and partnerships to improve educational outcomes in an elementary school, Manzano Mesa Elementary. Last December, one of the programs that I led and implemented was featured on NBC Nightly News with special education correspondent Chelsea Clinton. Since then, the program (known as Homework Diner) has spread to other schools within our district and last week NBC aired a second, follow up piece. It is very rewarding work and I am so proud to take the great experiences I had at Paul Kane and use them to improve education in New Mexico!
