24-hour Distress Line

 The Support Network provides a "single point of entry" for community support and counselling services in the Edmonton area. The Support Network operates a 24-hour Distress Line which provides support for suicide prevention, education, and bereavement services. In addition, the Support Network can provide information and referrals to more than 100 human service agencies and organizations in metro Edmonton. If you need help, the DISTRESS LINE offers a non-judgemental, empathetic listener who is always available when you feel overwhelmed, depressed or in crisis. Call: 482-HELP

Alberta Mental Health & Addictions (formerly AADAC)

As part of a provincial initiative, Alberta Mental Health has introduced Mobile Service Teams to enhance services to youth at risk.  A St. Albert unit has been established. Wendy Gruhkle-Smar, an addictions counsellor, can be contacted directly at 780-460-4971. Drop in services and assessment are also available on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays at the Westmount office located at 12325-140 Street, Edmonton. The contact number is 780-422-7383.
